How do you set parameters to start a program by? I refer to the type of parameters often available to use when starting a program via the command line. Something like PROGRAM.EXE /Q /F, or the like. I checked both program icons and shortcut icons and found no parameter line.

Hi-- I have WindowsXP SP2 installed and all has been well until suddenly one day the taskbar migrated to the top of the screen w/o my doing. I've right clicked to make sure it's not locked and tried to drag it back to the bottom but no go! Any advice on this? Thanks

I have an external HD. After backing up to it, I like to unplug it. However, when using the "safely remove hardware" icon, I generally get the msg "Device cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device later". Later, (an hour later) I get the same message.

I accidently removed Microsoft Word from the all programs menu and put it on my desktop, I would like to put it back in its original place. Any assistance would be great.

What expressly makes small icons in the WinXP Quicklaunch Toolbar? I'm sure it's something simple to discover but I haven't discovered it yet. Is it DIFFERENT than the setting for small icons in the start menu, taskbar, and main toolbar perhaps?

I decided to do some backing up to a CD. The printing on the CD says it has 700 MB (12X). I used My Computer to drag files onto it. After putting 418 MB of files on it, I right-clicked it and checked Properties. It says the capacity is 333 MB, and there are 157 MB used.

My recycle bin has 7 items in it that will not disappear. I click on Empty recycle bin but they will not go away. I cannot see anything in the bin when I check it in Windows Explorer. Any help would be appreciated.

I am new using PC's. I just loaded my 3 1/2 floppy and then clicked on computer, then the floppy file then one of the files. A pop-up appeared, "Can not load word for windows 6.0 files." How then do I use or read those word pad files? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have configured Windows XP (Home) to automatically install updates. I have an Excel Security Update, an Outlook Junk mail update and a security update for Outlook 2003. The updates won't install even though I have service pack 2 for Office 2003.
