Windows wont restart in Normal Mode28 Feb 2007 22:41 GMT1
When I select Normal Startup and restart the system it restarts in
Safe Mode. I can select Normal Startup Mode and then go to the
BOOT.INI TAB  and safe mode is selected. When I untick the safe mode
box and go back to the General tab the selective startup tab is

I've succeeded in getting the boot-up sequence to happen
without it requiring me to log on.
However, I've noticed that there are still more than one
user, listed, where ever that is listed.

Two XPs28 Feb 2007 14:58 GMT3
After a system crash, I have finally finished re-installing Windows XP
MCE 2005.  I had problems with that install (certain .NET fixes would
not apply). So, I chose to re-install yet again.
I chose the option to create a new installation, thinking it would
Open with?28 Feb 2007 05:52 GMT3
I've seen menus with an option named Open with.  As I recall, clicking it
would get you the selection dialog to choose what to open that file with.
I got an icon editor named IcoFx.  At some point after installation it
apparently hijacked the Open with line.  Clicking it would ...
Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (WGAN) Questions28 Feb 2007 04:28 GMT2
Please excuse my ignorance about the subject.  I have a couple basic
questions.  I am running xpsp2 and my Windows is perfectly legit.
I wasn't going to download the WGAN when it first came out, but gave in to
Bill Gates, after researching the subject, and failing to really ...
Fan Running Fast28 Feb 2007 02:20 GMT2
I have a Dell Dimension 3000 and the cooling fan has been running faster
lately - like it does in hot weather. Today, especially, it's really
flying. I haven't changed the location or put anything in the way of the
air flow. Is this a sign that the system is dying? Is there ...

installed on drive 2 without registering.
When running the application from WinXP(2) on disk2 the application knows
Cannot Download27 Feb 2007 20:48 GMT1
With XP HE I had problems with an old Cable modem and this has been
replaced. Not sure it was cause and  effect but I cannot download after the
new modem has been installed. Other problems include: 1. Cannot use delete
key to delete. Backspace does an erase, however. 2. Cannot ...
How to avoid login entirely?27 Feb 2007 20:27 GMT6
My old version of XP has never required a log-in, as I
remember.
Now, the new version requires that I click on my name before
it will load XP Pro.
Taskbar - on top but only sometimes - how to tweak ?27 Feb 2007 20:23 GMT1
I prefer my taskbar to be in 'always on top' mode to any other available mode.
I have also always moved my taskbar to the top of the screen on every PC I
have used since Windows 95 (makes sense to me - application toolbars are at
the top too, so less movement of the mouse, etc..  ...
