I was configuring the settings for my computer after a reformt, and now when I click my documents or a folder on my hard drive the search menu comes up. I can still open the folder if I right click it and select open, but I would like it back to the way it was.

A month or so ago my computer started in safe mode. I restarted it and it didn't so it again for a while, but increasingly it starts in safe mode and today it took four restarts and then I tried the "reset" button for it to start normally.

The order of the drop down window for file has changed and open is not the default first choice and search has moved to the first entry and is the default. Therefore if you double click on a subfolder instead of it opening I get the search window. How do I correct this problem?

Winxp SP2 I have a few shortcuts on the top left of my start menu that do no work and I cannot delete or remove them. Where are these located? How do I remove them?
