When I open XP home start menu (new style , not classic style) and click on "all programs" and then click on any folder, and then right-click on the folder and choose "explore", the explore window does not come up. Instead, the click appears

Hi - I've been surfing the internet for a solution but yet to find one. I'm trying to reinstall Win XP (mainly because of the quantity of files and software installed on my old machine). I've got a Win XP CD, and tried booting from that - but I can't delete my C partition -

I have an icon in my quick launch, which I believe is from Norton. (I uninstalled Norton, after much pain, last week. It is worse than a virus to get rid of) I think it is Norton, when I mouse over it, it says downloading updates 0%, and is in the shape of a yellow shield.

My friend has a legite copy of XP but has dial up where I have high speed. Is it possible for me to download all Updates for the last month for him,burn it to CD and have the Updates run from the CD?
