My brother accidentally deleted a large number of songs from his
PC. Fortunately we managed to recover the files using a freebie
called PC Inspector. The bad news is that they were all assigned a
generic file name when they recovered. The file attributes Title and

I got a panicked phone call from a family member who says they had a
long document they were composing in Works and had been saving it
regularly with Ctrl-S. They said they were almost done when they
accidentally hit Ctrl-A and it wiped out the document. According to

I am considering buying a basic desktop without an operating system as I
have  XP pro full version not yet used (gift from son-in-law).  My question
is: how is the operating system installed on a blank disk, or at most a
standard DOS loaded disk?

When I use the pull down menus in Windows XP, after the menus scroll down
they scroll back up before I have a chance to make a selection.  Can I slow
down the way the menus slide both up and down and sideways.

Isn't moving stuff across between PC's fun?
I have managed to copy some stuff into a tolder I created on my new
Vista ultimate desktop.  If I try to access anything inside it I get

I've tried running chkdsk on my XP machine (set chkdsk /r /c: to run
upon next boot up), but upon reboot it doesn't run.  Must be doing

Installed most recent chipset drivers from Gigabyte, M/B is GA-K8NSC-939,
nForce 3 chipset.
