We have three computers running Windows XP. On two of them the picture
chosen for the user shows up on the top of the start menu bar. On the
third it does not although it does show up when you go directly to user
information. Amy ideas?

Is there something like SFC in XP  Home, so that I can reinstall a file that
may be corrupted or may be causing probs in an app?  A win message came up
upon boot, indicating that "user32.dll was relocated..." because a directX

I bought an XP laptop. It has a license but no disks. I bought on ebay. If
I have to reinstall, am I out of luck?? If so, I'll put Linux ubuntu on it
like my other machines.

Ctrl-At=Del brings up the taskmanager screen, except that the top
portionwith the shutdown options is missing and the borders are all
grey.

Whilst searching for a document that did not show up, I foolishly ticked
the "hidden" box in the "properties box thinking it might show hidden
files.  Instead it hid documents and settings which has lost me "My
documents", program list etc.  How can I reverse as i obviously cannot

InstallShield Update Service is trying to access the trusted zone.
     Zone Alarm is continually giving me this message, I always deny it
access but don't know what it is.  The closest I can get is this:

I'm using XP HE.  My computer froze when I tried printing a calendar in MS
Works 2k.  Now every time I try to start my calendar app I get a 'Run As'
menu asking me, "Which user account do you want to use to run this program?"
Then I have the option to select 'Current User' or ...

Thinkpad with XP Pro and an MS wireless mouse.
After the prescribed amount of inactivity, the screen goes blank (no
screensaver selected) and the system apparently goes in to the Standby

I posted this on the General newsgroup, but got no response, so hopefully I
can get some help on this group. When I plug in a camera card nothing comes
up like it used to, which gave me choices of what to do with the pictures.

Using paper that is 4" X 6" I am unable to set 0.3" right and left margins .  
Office Assistant window pops up telling me, "Settings you choose for the left
and right margins, column spacing, or paragraph intendt are too large for the
page width in some sections."  Only margins ...
