I'm going to purchase a XP Pro (SP2) disk for a system I built.  If I buy it
used, how can I be sure it's usable and legal.  Thank You.

Three months ago my husband's 6 month old PC had a NVidia 7300SE fitted
(replacing a 6500) and it hasn't worked properly ever since. We've tried PC
World who r about as helpful as a 1 legged man at an a.s kicking party.

If I have a file on a HDD, and I COPY that file to multiple folders on

I have been to 2 computers to fix shut dwon problems and both had ASP.net as

I unplugged my XP Pro PC for about a week.  Plugged it into a different
location.  Now every time I turn it on, I’m asked:  safe mode, last known

How do I pause or freeze a quickly flashing then disappearing screen so that
I can read the contents before it vanishes?  I've tried using the Pause/Break
key on the keyboard, but that doesn't work.  Is their a function key or
combination of keys that might work? PC has Intel P4 ...

Windows XP Home Edition with 40 % free disk space, a 550MH CPU and 512 MB
memory using a USB connection for the Webstar cable modem I can not get the
download speed expected. Would a change to a Ethernet connection help? If
so, is a card required and how do I determine what card?

Whilst searching for a document that did not show up, I foolishly ticked
the "hidden" box in the "properties box thinking it might show hidden
files.  Instead it hid documents and settings which has lost me "My
documents", program list etc.  How can I reverse as i obviously ...

I have an old External SCSI Hard Drive that was formatted and used with
Macintosh computer.  I wonder if this drive could be mounted and
reformatted to be used as a backup drive for a Dell D-600 using XP Pro?
Something tell me the Dell may not have a SCSI interface.

My Recycle Bin always tells me that I have 18 items in it but these do not
show on the list and seemingly can't be deleted.
Any ideas?
