My neighbor rebooted our computer after it crashed and we got it gixed. he set up two users and only one has administrative rights and he also set up a password that none of us can remember. Is there a was to retrieve it? We can get on the web and things but we can't install ...

Isn't there SOME way to permanently get rid of these folder icons that Windows uses to preceed a folder name in Explore or whenever I move through the hyerarchy of folders? I know about using File|View|Details but that lasts only for the session. Next time I search through a list ...

Does one need any third party software or is this support built into the OS? Can you just zip any file in Explorer from within the OS without launching any third party shareware?

Is it possible to forward emails if you have closed the account? I have two isp's and I want to close one of them (to save the money) and I was wondering if there was anything I could do besides notifiying everybody who has that email for me to change it.

I am trying to install XP service pack 2 but keep getting the message that c:windows\system32\cmd.exe is in use and intall cannot proceed. I cannot get taskbar up to see what is using cmd.exe. Please, please help!!

I am unable to set "show hidden files and folders". I am running XP Professional SP 2. Dell 1GHz Pentium system. When I go to file option, click view, then click the button: [x] show hidden files and folders, click apply, click OK.

My Show Desktop icon on the Quick Launch bar is no longer working. I've deleted it and recreated it (using a couple of different methods). No matter how I recreate it, when I press it nothing happens.

We downloaded a program because we were having this problem during install/uninstall. The program was MSICUU2.exe. We couldnt even get this program to install! This is getting real frickin old. Cannot install anything or uninstall anything, whether microsoft product or not.
