I accidently drag the small desktop icon from the quick launch toolbar
to the desktop, now when I try to drag it back to the taskbar and
release the mouse, it goes back to the desktop. Can anyone help me
with instructions on how to get the desktop icon bacl to the quick

I have run the defragmentation and the message at the end comes up with
cannot defragment some files - then suggests to view report. The report shows
no files at all. Is this a potential problem or not?

How does one turn off the touchpad?
I've searched everywhere I can and none of the suggestions work. I can't
find the touchpad in the device manager, it's not under mouse setttings in
the control panel and there's no icon for it in the taskbar.

I am looking for a PC application that will go through selected
folders, and copy files that have creation date greater than xxxx to
another folder.
This will automate a backup process by only backing up new files, and

I just had windows XP reinstalled and was restoring back up files when I
received a message that some files were skipped, and when I viewed the report
it said that there were corrupt files. Does this just mean that these files
weren't replaced or do I need to worry that corrupt ...

I recently changed my browser back to IE7 from Foxfire. Now my desktop icons
will not open on-line sites. I get the "Open With" dialogue box and follow I
the instruction to no avail. Even when  I create a new icon this still
happens. Please advise.

All my folders have a green box (not a checkmark) in Properties >
Attributes > ReadOnly.  If I click the box to make it blank, then
click Apply and OK, it seems to remove the read-only attribute.  But
when I go back in to check, the green box is back again.  How do I get

The date in the event viewer 'system' view is wrong by 10 days. The system
date is correct in security and application events.
The bios shows the correct date, Windows shows the correct date. It's only
happening in the 'system' events. What's wrong and how do I fix it?

Total uninstall an old friend. Anyone have adverse experience with it?
V-Cool was great in slower CPU's - Athlon - not useable with later ones,
e.g. Sempron, @ 1800 GHz. Any recommendations for a cooler?

last night computer rebooted by itself many times. I tried to scan C and
D for errors and it rebooted several ties. Finally I got all the way
thru the error scans and it found nothing,,then I defragged C:/, but
each time I tried to defrag D:/ it rebooted or just stopped during ...

Once I am in safe mode I am un able to get out of it.  What are the steps to
g et out of safe mode?  It keeps going back into safe mode no matter what I
do.
