I have been trying to get rid of some Exploit-Byte Verify files that I
believe have buried themselves in my system restore file.  McAfee solution is
to turn off the system restore and then delete files.  When I try check the
"Turn off system restore" and then highlight the drive ...

I'm trying to watch a movie downloaded from the internet and can't open it.
It ends with .avi.I can't seem to open it with Windows media player.
It just says the program used to compress the folder is unknown.
Any ideas.

I use yahoo for email, is there any way that these emails are stored on the
hard drive if I never saved them to begin with? If so, how do I remove them?
Are there any blockers that can be downloaded to stop emails from going to
the hard drive?

Current temperature has disappeared from my Windows Live Tool Bar.  I have
read the help instructions and followed them.  When I click "Install buttons"
the MSN weather button is not listed.

What is this? Is this from Microsoft? Or is this some spyware or virus
activator that got dropped into my PC ? Also, do not want Quick time and Real
Player on my bottom taskbar....but apparently got loaded by AOL. How do I
move them off the taskbar and what impact would it have??

When I boot up my computer, it seems that alot of programs have to load
before I can do anything.
Programs that I do not use often and wouldn't mind if I had to manually open
them from the Start menu when I need to use them.

I am trying to upgrade from XP Pro to XP Media Center and I'm having a
problem. Install goes fine but now it says it needs to activate. "When it
tries, msoobe.exe application error - memory could not be written." Whether I
select "ok" or "cancel" it goes back to the Windows login ...

It takes my computer about 10 - 15 minutes to boot up.
How can I eleminate the items that are running in the background?

I received a message from AT&T about some changes for email security
enhancements with instructions for Outlook Express but nothing for
Outlook.  I called and was told they do not have the instructions for
Outlook.

If I install a 64 bit version of windows xp pro will that allow windows to
make full use of all the ram installed?
I understand that 32 bit versions of win xp only allow access to 4 gigs or
so of ram?
