I installed a new hard drive, thought the old one was dying. Turns out it was something else. I've left the new drive in place but disabled it. Does it still run every time the pc is started? Should I disconnect the power wire to it? Or just go ahead and take it out?

when I put my mouse cursor on a subject that has a long line in these newsgroups, nothing happens. Used to be it would read the whole line including whatever there was after the dots, but not any more. How do I get this back

instead of getting @ when i press shift+' i get ". its vice versa when i press shift+2 i get @ instead of ". trivial problem i know but very annoying! anyone got any ideas how to fix this?

I have a repeating security update (KB923723). I tried the solution suggested in a previous post, namely deleting the registry entries and reinstalling, but to no avail. The update pops up a few seconds after each install.
