I have Windows XP SP2. When turning off the computer I am unable to use the
Stand by link as it is faded.  The Turn off and Restart links are OK.
Yesterday and before the Stand by link was also OK, somehow today it's no
go.  Could someone please advise how to get it going again.

Recently I try to create a Desktop Shortcut to www.tdameritrade.com
but when I click on it - I get an error saying IE must close and do I
want to sent the error data to Microsoft.

lets say i have several different apps running.
(internet explorer, word, outlook express etc)
When i switch between them using taskbar buttons
it's very slow. So it takes maybe even few seconds

Is there a way to limit kids usage with the xp home oper system by making the
system unavailable during certain hours of the day? If not is there a way to
make the system log off at a certain time of the day for a specific amount of
time?

How can I get XP to properly arrange shortcuts on the desktop by name,
instead of by all users first followed by my account?

I have Win XP Home SP2 .When I try either  ‘Save’ or ‘Save as’ in Notepad I
am presented with a Dialog Box in which the ‘save as type’ is set by default

My pc came preinstalled with xp home and came with the restore disks, is
