When hovering over an image (jpeg, bmp etc), XP used to display the image
dimensions. For some reason, XP no longer does so.

I turn my Windows Firewall on in the security section of the control
panel, but when I boot up the next time it is off.
I have XP Home Edition, SP2.  Evidently something is set to disable
