By accident I noticed that if I put the cursor on a desktop icon, then
held down the right mouse button and moved the icon a bit, that when I
released the mouse button a context menu would pop up offering (among
other more mundane things) the option: "Secure move with eraser".

Somehow I managed to loose the lauch icon for IE7.  IE7 is still there
because if i click a link in outlook 2007 it launches IE7 and loads the
