Hi All..Trying you guys as no one else can give me an answer through online

Is Microsoft now requiring a contract and charges for the subject? I've used
it many times in the past and don't remember having to agree to a contract
which has language about fees and charges. Thanks

As I heared this is a big and common problem for SP2 users.
After I instaled windows XP, I became unable to download any new
program from the internet.  I also couldn't update my windows XP
because I always get message that I don't have the permission to do

My Memory Frequency is set to 100 Mhz.
Does this sound correct/proper for my system?

I tried reinstalling xp home edition after experiencing some issues. Gone
thru the setup process and installed it succesfully but as a 2nd OS. At
start-up i now have 2 XP OS two choose from. The newly installed version is

Windows XP Pro
Under Documents and Settings \ My Name, I have a "Start Menu" folder.
Using msconfig, the Startup tab I have only one item scheduled to run at
boot time.

How do I get that dialog to come back that asks me what I want to do when I
insert a disc or plug in my USB stick? Evidently, at some point, I indicated
not to display it anymore. I've tried searching for an answer but I guess I
just don't know what it's called.

My XP Home/SP2 seems to be missing something. My cousin came
here with a plug-in memory stick of pictures and he captures
them and stored them in Desktop somewhere and can click them
open one at a time, but says my OS is missing something that

I just installed VCom System Commander and suddenly, I cannot see me 2nd
hard drive, Disc Management indicates that the drive is active, however, it
is classified an an unknown partition with no drive letter and does not
appear in windows explorer.

I  e-mailed a guy off of Craig's List who has an XP Pro/SP2 disk and
asked him if it was "Retail, OEM, or an Upgrade disk.  His reply was
"It's in a sealed DVD container"   That was his total answer !!!

My Compaq Presario laptop was destroyed by lightning, and now I have a
Gateway laptop.  I copied files from my old computer's hard drive to my
new computer, but I don't know what to do about some CD image files
which have HP/Compaq's "RecordNow!" format with the ".gi" file extension ...
