How do I disable the WkDetect from running on my startup?
I have Microsoft Works 2002 in my Dell Computer running Windows XP. I have
tried to stop the WkDetect.exe from running by disabling it on the startup in
the System Configuration Utility, but it always returns.

Running XP Pro Sp2, IE 7 all patches, 512mb ram
I have had Notepad+ installed for long time, and works ok for me.
For about a month, with a Rt Ck/Open With/ on a text file there
are two entries for Notepad. Both will open the file.

If this is wrong newsgroup, my apologies in advance. In some programs when I
go to open a file the default location is "Desktop" and the toolbar doesn't
give me the option of going "Up One Level." Really annoying.

I have a DOS .bat file I was running on Windows 95 to operate a device
connected to the printer port on a different system of mine and now that
system is down, I would like to run the .bat file on my main system that is
running WinXP.

can anyone help ,i cant remove this from my computer i keep getting error
messages saying component transfer error error,catasrophic failure its
driving me mad

My XP upgrade disc offers me the option of an upgrade (recommended) or full
install. If this is only an upgrade disc as it says on the box, why it the
full install option there?

Hi, Now that my daughter started college and has her own laptop, I want her
to place all the files that pertain to her from my desktop, that is in her
user acct, so that I can delete it and have yet a little bit more space on
my 4 yr old pc.

I have a site that is running static IP addresses so when the mobile/laptop
users go home or travel then have to change their IP setting to Auto and
then keep track of what their work network settings are and reenter them.
What kind of solution does XP Pro have for this?

Somehow my control panel has disappeared. What can I do to get it back?
