I have Windows XP with SP2 preloaded onto my PC. I want to set up the fax capability, and get prompted to insert a disk when trying to configure it. The file it is looking for is fxsapi. How can I download the necessary files/drivers please?

I recently discovered that there were so many versions of the above installed on my machine: 1.1; 2.0 SP1; 3.0 SP1 and 3.5. Is it really necessary to keep them all or could I dispense with the first thre and remain with only Microsoft.net Framework 3.5
