I am a tired and overworked library director. At our college, we have some very creative students who enjoy setting interesting images as "background" or "wallpaper." While I admire the effort, I'd prefer a more stable and sometimes less shocking image for our screens.

after changing refresh rate i rebooted and got the message freq.out of range.i now have no display,allthough my monitor is fine as i have tested it on another pc.any advise wellcome.regards

Using the Tabs feature, I am unable to use the Tile or Cascade capability by right clicking the Task bar. Nor is Tile or Cascade in the Help menue. What gives??

I am trying to download a file. I get the download box and click run. Nothing happens. I click save and it saves, but when I seardh for it I get no results. Can some one advise me as to whats wrong. I've tried several times. Thank you, James

I started one of my PC after a gap of 14 months. It gave CMOS checksome error ---- press F1 to continue or DEL to enter setup. I pressed F1 and then it tried to boot, I am asked in what mode? I selected the Normal mode then ultimately there is the Blue screen (BSD).

XP Pro, DSL. I leave the system on all night. Everything is fine when I retire, but I have to reboot in the morning to reestablish my internet connection. Just curious why this happens. TIA

My file C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts does not seem to be doing its job. For instance: In my hosts file there are two entries. 127.0.0.1 ads.cnn.com and 127.0.0.1 ads.cnn.net

I have a desktop and laptop, both with windows xp. I wish to copy and keep updated the files from the desktop to the laptop. I have copied them from the desktop to an external hard drive and from there to the laptop but this is quite time consuming.

I have a problem with the window XP Home edition. I havve a graphic card installed 2 months ago. When i boot the pc, I hear a beep then the Windows XP page loads and the bar shows the movements. Then for whatever reason, the pc loops back to the start of the boot page and ...

I increased the resolution of my monitor from 1024x768 to the next level up. IE windows and other windows are now smaller than I want them, but after resizing them, and re-opening them, they revert to the small size. How to get them to remember the new size?

when I click on Start/ All programs, I get two columns of programs. I once read an article that showed me how to increase the columns to 3 or 4 . I can't find it now. Any help is appreciated.

I've been attempting to save an eBay auction page of an auction I won using "Web Archive, single file(*.mht)". It gets to about 13% complete, and then I get the error box "This webpage could not be saved".
