I have two machines running XP Pro, hard-wired to a Linksys router.  I'm trying
to network them, but I'm clearly doing something dumb.
If on the first machine I go to:
    My Network Places\Entire Network\Micorsoft Windows Network\Mshome

Whenever I try to install a program, I get about 2/3 of the way thru
the installation, and then it stops and I get a message box that says:

I have the same problem - many unintelligle characters after decompression of
rar file.
Checked language installs and ALL chinese variations in my XP Professional
SP3 are checked.

Having a problem with what I think is called the system tray or task bar.
Located at the right it is where most application icons are located.
When I log on not all the icons appear. Perhaps 50% appear. If I log off and
then on again they all appear.

On my computer WinXP PRO SP3 each action involving any .avi file is causing
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) intervention.
And it even does not involve openning .avi file.
Any click on .avi file (mouse left or right click), action like copying,

found it in My Documents. How and when it got there I have no idea...

Do you have to use Windows Update to get SP3 or is there another site to
download it to "Save" rather than "Run" as with Windows Update?  Would prefer
not to use Windows Update.
