Two problems with XP SP3
I started with Win XP 32bit sp2  everything running fine,  installed
sp3 and ran into two  problems:
First - windows explorer was very slow in displaying file names - this

If i try to alter anything in msconfig, I get a message saying access denied
and that I have to be the administrator.
This is a home computer with me alone using it for the last 3 years.
Why has this suddenly started and how do I put it back to normal?

I have installed a new sound card but am getting an error message that it
will only work if I disable some of the other audio systems in the computer
(running windows XP).
Can someone please tell me how to disable the legacy audio driver?

Running XP Home SP1
All of a sudden if I select Ctrl Panel; Adnin Tools; if I double click
on any of the shortcuts I get a DOS-box which immediately closes.
Also System Retorecan't restore me to an earlier restore point.

I have had this problem for years,about time I found out why

I have an HP C5180 printer attached to PC and when I do an ALT+PS or CTRL+PS
or SHift+PS, nothing prints. If you go to control panel and look at printers,
the above printer is the default and is ready. What do I need to do to

Running XP Fome SP1
All of a sudden the icons for my startup programs aren't  being
displayed in the tray.  I know that most of them are working, butit's
icon doesn't show.

Should a drive periodically be defragged even when the utility says it
doesn't need the operation ??  TIA

I have installed win xp on an old computer eveything goes smooth until i
install sp2.  When the system reboots the screen gose blank after the Windows
XP screen. I have to start the install all over again.  I have swapped out

I had a hard drive that would not boot so installed a new hard drive and made
it the primary (boot) drive. I have the old hard drive in the pc as well and
