i recently upgraded my lapton from ME to XP and when doing
so converted to ntfs from fat32. I have discovered that XP
uses too much memory on my laptop and has slowed it down
so much that any task takes a lifetime to complete. i

I am trying to install windows xp professional on my
laptop (Dell Inspiron 3700).  After the installtion was
essentially complete and the reboot was attempted, an
error message comes up saying

I've set the screen saver for 1 minute, but it never comes on.  I
noticed that the user had several screen savers that they downloaded.
I got rid of all of them, and I still can't get the screen saver to
work.

When I load an update to XP home a change happened.
