I'm a first time user and wonder if anyone can help me
figure out how to solve the notice I get when I shut-down
puter.  It reads, ipconfigs.exe failed.  Sometimes it
reads "failed to load PSAPL.DLL.

I have dvd drive, cdrw drive and dvdrw drive which where
running and now the computer says it has installed the
hardware but cannot find the device. I have uninstalled

I may not be in the right place.
I have done a complete destructive restore of my system.
Windows XP and I am running a Compaq Presario S5140WM.

When I try to play the game Motocross Madness 2, I keep
getting the following error message:  "MCM2.exe has
encountered a problem and needs to close".  These games
use to work fine on ME, but we upgraded to XP and Appian

Running Win XP SP2 and I have a problem in Windows Explorer. I use to
be able to highlight a Folder > File >New and to the right would be
Folder and when I clicked on that I could create a new Folder and Name
it.

I installed "Office Student & Teacher" while I was logged
in as ADMINISTRATOR. Later I found I needed to setup a
logon with a password in order to use the task scheduler
so I added a USER with administrator privileges. Why can

OK, I'm trying to get to grips with the way XP pro and XP home actually work

User Profiles. Note this is without the PC being joined to a network and

I have a question regarding Windows XP shutting down.  I have a user that,
occasionally when he goes to shutdown, it takes a little bit to shut down
and after it says Windows is shutting down it kind of hangs.  The mouse is
still available, but it does not actually shut down or ...

Suddenly, my Outlook express takes 30-40 sec to start from the splash
screen, instead of earlier less than 10.
What might cause this? Agreed, I do have a lot of mail,  but not in the IN
