I installed SP2 and found out all files I clicked on had a confirmation box, I stupidly selected "open" and "Don't ask again" now I can not save any zip files unless I right- click.

I deleted the partition and formatted the disk on a win2k PC and installed win xp from scratch. Now that I have searched in the win xp registry, I still find references to apps that were installed on the win2k PC. Why is my clean install not completely clean?

I just installed windows xp pro sp2 and for the last few days I keep getting an error message when I boot up. Once windows is loaded I get errors in files "printer.pif" and "usi.exe". Is there any way to get rid of these and fix the problem?

How do I get windows explorer to default to my documents when it is opened? It always defaults to c: drive. I haev gone through all the menus but can't find the correct option.

I have recently acquired a new disk drive and have loaded XP professional on it and numerous programs over the past month or so while still keeping XP home on the 'C' drive. I now no longer want XP Home and have changed the 'C'

Microphone does NOT work I cannot have my microphone working. I used several microphones and tested the audio card. It looks like an XP problem. In fact, the XP Guide states that to configure the microphone I have to use the Control Panel->Voice

I'm using Windows XP Professional. I'm not sure what they are called, so for now, until I learn the proper term for them, I'll call them "context pop-up balloons." I'll give you an example of one, so you know what I'm referring to.
