ok maybe someone can help I have a system that was running
windows 98 fine with no issues. I backed it up to tape
then formatted and repartioned the hard drive and reloaded 98
then installed xp sp1 in the other partion. win98 still works fine

Found no Microsoft KB article directly addressing this, but
KB article #870890 (pertaining to Service Pack 2)states my problem, that an
AOL Dial-up connection icon in Control Panel Network Connections does not

Just installed SP2, now having real problems.

Inside the control panel: the Folder Options> File types tab>
I messed with the exe file type and now when I try to open any ("file
name").exe files, a box opens: telling me "WIndows cannot open this file:"
To open this file, Windows need to know what program created it...
