I am wondering if I can set me computer running Windows XP tabled edition to detect when it is connected to a network and automatically switch to a difference hardware profile. And then switch back once it has been disconnected.

when i insert a cd nothing happens. i have to use windows explorer to locate the autorun or setup file to install anything. how do i make cd's autorun. even music cd's do not work. i have xp pro sp2. thank you for any help.

I upgraded my computer from Windows 98SE to Windows XP Home (with SP2 already on the CD-ROM when I purchased it). The upgrade went smoothly and my computer was running smoothly and quickly. Then I installed Norton Internet Security 2004. Now my computer runs much slower.

Anyone know how to get Windows disk check to save/file a record of its activity? Most of time that I use disk check, it requires me to restart the computer and it checks the disk before Windows starts -- and the results of the check flies by so fast I don't have time to read it ...

I'm the only user of my computer in my home (I live alone), and for several weeks I cannot open or access the Shared Documents folder, even though I'm an admin on the machine. The folder has also been renamed "Documents". Any ideas on what to do?
