I keep getting this error everytime I try updating XP Pro sp1 to sp2. That
setup could not verify the update.inf.  I've tried evrything short of the
right thing.
I've re-registered dlls, I've tried renaking catroot2 with no success, there

maybe this was a SP2 so called improvement, but i do not like it.
every once in a while outlook express starts compacting my folders without
warning.
i prefer this to be done manually when i don't have to sit and wait for it

My monitor is set to 1024 x 768. If I put a 1024 x 768 x 96ppi image on

I'm having Windows XP Pro + SP2 on P4 3.2GHz, 512 MB RAM, Compaq Presario.
When ever I click on "Turn off", it never shuts down at the first attempt,
some times it just logs off or nothing happens. But it succeeds on the

I installed the Catalyst driver recently for ATI. The rotation hotkeys
never worked.. i tried restarting and it still does not work.. I
actually never worked.. anyone has any idea why the rotation hotkey is

When I installed WXP, SP2, I initially gave my full name in setting up my
account, but then changed my account type from "Administrator" to "Power
User" and shortened the account name to my nickname.  I then created another

My system has 512MB memory, yet I sometimes recieve a notification message
stating I am low on system memory and that the system is increasing the size
of my paging file. I know what a paging file is, and why it gets increased,

are huge. Can some of them be safely deleted?

I am in the process of replacing my new hard drive  to Maxtor 120gb Diomand  
9(IDE). I used Maxblast 3 to copy my old drive to my new drive.
This all worked fine and when I restarted the PC with the new drive as the
master, the Bios recognised it ok and Xp started to boot up as ...

I messed up my WinXP Pro installation on my C drive, and, short of time,
rather than trying to fix it and lose all my files, installed a second copy
on my D drive to use temporarily.

Hello you friendly helpers.
I'm running WIN-XP/SP2
My desktop has suddenly changed. On the left side of my 17" display. I have
a 3" column wich looks the column you see in a folder. On the top "Folder

I have a folder which always opens on startup of windows XP home.  It's not
in the startup folder.  Doesn't seem to cause a problem it's just annoying.
Can Msconfig get rid of it ? I cant seem to find any reference to it anywhere.
