Elitegroup K7S5A motherboard, ram 256 and trying to install xp sp1 but while
losding, it gives me an error 8192 and ask to press any key to exit set up.
never encounter this before, any particular reason, pls enlighten and how can

I am upgrading to a newly built PC.  I performed online activation of
Windows XP on my old PC about two years ago.
I have now also installed the same copy of XP on my new PC (as well as SP 2)
and I am in the 30 day period within which I must activate online or XP will

I deleted "c:\ntldr" file by mistake. I copied the file from Windows XP Pro
SP1 cd-rom to c:\, but now I get "NTLDR is compressed" message. fixboot and
fixmbr commands do not help in the Recovery Console. How to remove the

When I double click a folder from Win. Explorer to open it, the search asst.
opens instead. If I right-click the folder, the options menu lists
"Search..." as the first  option in the list (it is also highlighted in bold
type). "Open..", which is normally  the default option is ...

First, let me apologize if this is a common question: I've just spent the
last two hours reading through as many messages on these boards as I could
find that might pertain to my problem, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong

My work has a PC running WinXP that they use for work in the field.  The
first person to use is actually died, and the admin password died with him.  
Is there a way to restore or recreate a new password?  What about relaoding
XP?  Any suggestions would be helpful.

using xpsp2, ram 256mb and Amd Duron (tm) processor 846 mhz. the virtual was
at 192/384 and I get the low memory message, so I increase to 384/500
respectively. Now when I try to go to right click properties (on my pc) I get
a rundll32 exe Applicatiion error. Any idea why is that ...
