I'm runin XP pro with SP2 installed
When I delete a file it's totaly deletes, not moved to the recyle bin. The
option in the bin properties to do this is not set. I have tried setting it,
deleteing a file, then clearing it and there's no difference.

At one of the Windows XP Professional installations, I have discovered
that when you open the Date and Time Properties and check the  Time
Zone tab, it shows only one Time Zone entry in the drop down (which is

I recently reinstalled XP Professional and upgraded to SP2, et al.
When I opened Windows Explorer, my left pane was empty.  It had a grayish
box with an X in the corner to close it.  When I closed it, it gave me the
settings for My Computer.  Can anyone help?

I am trying to help a friend with her PC. It's a DELL with XP.
There are 2 CD drives(1 CD and 1 DVD), but both are not working. The CD
drive will open and take in a CD. But it will not show any files. It can't
read the CD.

I simply wish to copy the contents of one drive to another, and will

I am the only user and Administrator of my PC. When I run Windows Update,
the screen does not completely fill. It shows checking for the latest
version of Windows Update Software and does nothing. It used to run fine.

I just installed a 300 gb drive as a slave to an older boot drive. I have win
xp sp2 (sp1 when I installed the drive so it should not matter), the right
atapi.sys and the newest bios update for my mb. I also have
WinAppAccelarator, from before.

I have an HP734n that had the on-board sound decide to stop working. No
problem right? I purchased a Creative PCI Sound card to replace the on-board,
plugged it into my open pci slot, installed the software and thought I was a

This used to work, but....
I can no longer use all of the "Computer Management" tools against a remote
computer.  "Local Users and Groups", "Event Viewer", "Performance Logs and
Alerts" and "Device Manager" all return a similar error:

The Star-Up Tab on my "System Configuration Utilty" is full of stuff
I've never seen before.
However, it is a list of all the programs that will execute when I
boot up.

My machine started rebooting when ever it hits the mup.sys
file no matter what option I choose in the boot menu, normal
safe, safe with networking, or safe with command prompt.

    Is there any way to relocate the offline files to another partition in
my Notebook. Or do I have any option to copy a complete folder from network
and synchronize it whenever I want.

Where can I find my offline folders on the file system?  I'd like to
actually be able to see where they are hidden on the system.
The problem I have is I am using offline folders to sync up my MP3s
with my computer at home.  It works great...until I plug into a network
