I had a problem with one desktop with XP SP 1 Professional installed.
I removed the hard disk from that PC and installed it as a slave disk on
another computer with XP SP2 installed.
I tried to read one folder of that disk but it  has the read-only property

I notice there are many empty folders, especially in Windows\System32. Most
of these are dated from at least six months before I upgraded to WindowsXP
(from ME). Can I safely delete these, since they are just taking up room?

Until recently, a save picture image was done in the format originally from
the website or e-mail.  Now all pictures are saved as bitmap images, file
title is "untitled" and file type is bitmap without option to change.
How can I change these defaults?

When someone tries to download a file from my ftp folder via the internet,
the speed is limited to 6KB/s. I have 16KB/s upload speed.
It happens even if my network is idle at this time.
