On a new intsallation of WinXp (all latestupdates) it takes quite a bit of time, > 5 minutes, for the add remove program list to be populated. Any ideas why this is so? What can I do to speed up this activity? mc

Connection Manager was accidently deleted from my computer while I was in the "add or remove programs" window. I'm not able to connect to the network in at work without it. Is there a way to re-install this program? I've tried re-installing Windows XP, which didn't help.

messenger has begun appearing automatically at start-up and it won't go away even if i un-check the box on the start menu for changing windows components. checking exit on the taskbar makes me shut down outlook. as soon as i re-open and want to write an email, there it is again.
