Would anyone be willing to give me a script or GPO I can use to turn a
users Quick Launch Bar on by default the first time they log into the
system?  Bonus points if you can show me how to script a specific width
(7 icons wide).

I have been enabling filmstrip view using Right click the folder then
sharing and then the costomize tab. What is the correct way to do this, as
my way don't work most of the time...?

I recently purchased a Dell 3000 (P4, 2.8).  It came with XP Home loaded on
it and was working fine.  But, I own XP Pro, and booted off of the Pro CD and
wiped the HD clean for a fresh install.  After the text based portion of the
Setup completed, the computer started rebooting ...

I did a system restore, the system shutdown before the restore was complete.
I ended with non bootable PC.  Using Recovery console, or putting the disk
as a slave in another PC, I was able to restore the registry files to
system32\config.

A friend has a computer with Windows XP Pro.
We suspect that one of the system files/drivers might have gotten
replaced by a new (and corrupted) copy either during one of the
updates or because of some malware.

I tried to partition my hd from two partitions to three partitions. I want
the third partition to be a DOS partion that I can boot to so that when I
start computer I can boot to the DOS or to XP. I got it to make a partition
but it is hidden and when I try to unhide it hides it ...

I'm new to XP Pro.  In thrashing around, I somehow hid the Status bar from
the bottom of my screen.  No Start button.  No clock, no nothing.

My computer has XP Pro preloaded by Gateway. My Startup window (in System
Configuration Utility) is populated by 30 items.
A freind's computer had ME preloaded by Dell and I helped her upgrade to XP
Home (SP2) in December. Her Startup window has only two items listed: SysTray
