My compaq presario laptop ran an automatic update for windows and I just clicked install now. After it attempted to reboot I only receive this error message and nothing will load. Anyone know how to fix this? I do not have my CD's because I am in transition from Germany back ...

When I open a new window it only opens half the window. When I expand it and close the window and reopen it, it opens again as a half window. How do I set the configuration to open all windows as full windows? Thank You

I am trying to install the newest version of Macromedia Shockwave (10). I currently have version 8 installed. Every time I try to install version 10, it tells me that I do not have administrative privileges, even though I do! I can't get past this.

Hopefully someone can help me with this. I have 100 XP Pro desktops. None of them have local users. I want to schedule 50 of them to reboot one day and the other 50 to reboot on another day. I cannot schedule tasks on the PC's due to AD policies in place.

I have inherited Windows XP Pro edition, when I bought a PC from my firm. I thought I would reformat & reinstall Windows, which was all fine. However, when I installed XP, I didn't set an administrator password. Now every 30 days, it tells me the password needs to be changed.

I recently added a new administrative account, and deleted the old one... But Windows still tries to automatically log on with the old account. Obviously, it gives an error message saying the profile can't be found. I've tried logging on in safe mode, but I get the SAME error ...
