This old battle again... We've got an AD (previously used only Netware for the PC's) with 1200 or so users in it. About 100 of those are laptop users that are rarely in the office.

if i click the right mouse click to open a file, and i choose "open with" and then "other programs" the file is executed automatic in notepad (instead of the little explorer i had earlier to choose a programm). where can i chnage this? thnaks in advance. Daniel

Trying to figure out my hardware problems (see previous post) I went to the Windows update page and found 11 critical updates I needed to install. But tried twice and both times the updates did NOT install. The only message I'm given is that the updates "failed."

When I am connected to my ADSL ISP, I am continually sending 55 bytes of information(?) from my PC when not actively using internet. I have run a full virus scan and nothing was found. I am also using full McAfee Security Suite set with 100% security index.

The strangest thing has happened here.. If i put in an USB device, nothing happends. But if I keep the USB device plugged in and restart the computer, it autodetects it. This goes for camera, usb stick, usb cable phone, usb memorycard reader.
