XP prof., fully updated.  I used msconfig and ended up with way-too minimal
safemode.  Now I can't restore back to normal boot, which is far worse than
the problem I was trying to solve...

i set CUSTOM size of pagefile 200 - 200 mb (lowest - highest) value
or any other value

having a problem creating a task
i select the application and time i want it to run, when i click finish it
says:
"An error has occurred while attempting to set task account information.

When I go to the MS Update site, it says there's a problem and can't display
the page.   When I tried to email MS, it said no free msg was possible.  All

How do I permanently delete files?  
Yes, I know about clearing out the recycle bin, but I am under the belief
that the "erased file" still exists on the hard drive so that someone else
can access that file later on.

WXP SP2 installed on Hitachi Sata2 250 gb HD, with 2 more of same drives
detected but not yet formated.
Hitachi has a dos tool, ftool.exe, which handles setting these drives to
Sata 2 and also setting up Raid 0 on the 2 non boot drives.

Its ok in the bios, its listed differently in Disk Management evertime I look
at it... and it won't show up at all in My Computer.
It worked great the first time, but now I can't get in...

Is therer a way to configure xp to find a specific domain controller?
We are running xp pro on  a 2000 Domain.
We have four sites. Each site has its own domain server.
The problem is, that all the machines are using the Original Domain server

New Notebook, trying to add Windows FAX. Start install and
message comes up that unable to install any of the 31 files
eg> FXxxxxx.dl_ or FXxxxxx.ex_ that reside in
c:/windows/i386.  The files are there yet windows says that

The Resource book says that an ASR backup only contains system files, but
when I try to do it via the ASR wizard it seems to back up all the files on
the volume (to tape in this case).  In any event around 7gb. Why and how do
I prevent that??
