I have tried using a USB flash drive and a IDE HD (80G Western Digital) in a
USB 2.0 enclosure with my PC and I get the following errors each time:
   There was a problem installing this hardware:
   USB Mass Storage Device USB Device (this is the flash drive)

Can someone tell me how I can turn-off the nag bubble that appears from the
security centre icon in the system tray?  I haven't activated windows
update - and don't want to.

1 - how can you permenantly turn off the windows pseudo firewall ? - every
patch seems to turn it back on whatever we do  and it then stops us from
connecting in to  support our customers  ( same for giant  antispyware as it
misidentifies support tolls)

I added a context menu item (right-click) to the file type "File
Folder". Usually when you double-click on a File Folder, it'll open
(explore) within  the same window. Somehow the context item I installed
became the default action. The original action somehow got deleted. Is

When I boot computer, TrayApp program comes up.  It is looking for a path on
my CD drive that is not there and I cannot close the proogram.  How canI
eliminate this on start up.  System Restore did not do it.

with 2 partitions C: & D:. Partition D: has 37Gb and is empty and I wish to

I was wondering how to change a drive icon. I have a Western Digital
external hardrive and it has an ugly icon. I like the default xp drive icons

Hi all, hope you can help with this little problem...
When I insert a blank CD or DVD into my CD/DVD burner I used to get a small
box opening that said " Blank CD. What do you want Windows to do?" and there
were various options listed that could chose.
