When I shutdown my XP Pro on a ThinkPad X30, it takes almost 5 minutes to complete, I get a blue screen with intense disk activity is there any way to stop that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I recently updated my Dell GX1'S to windows XP. However, whenever I go to shutdown it ends all the tasks and says a message" It is safe to shutdown now" at which point we must force shutdown by holding in power button. Is there a way to force a shutdown totally first time??

I have Windows XP Home SP 1 and scads of software installed on Drive C. I also have a 2nd internal drive -- F -- that I have used for storage. I suspect Drive C may be going bad. I'd like to migrate everything from Drive C to Drive F and use Drive F as the boot-up.
