When I install new hardware, windows doesn't know where to go to look for the drivers. I need to tell it to go to windows/inf. Is there a setting that I can change to make this the default??? Thanks, Arnold

If from explorer or My Computer I right click on the c: drive and do a search for something, it doesn't include the Program files or Windows folders in the search. But I can search those folders starting with a right click on them.

When you do a CTRL-ALT-Del we all know you get a pop-up window. Well somehow I changed the setting for it so instead of the normal 3 tab setup I now only have one tab that lists programs (like netscape.exe, tskmgr.exe, etc). This tab corresponds to tab 2 in the 3 tab setup.

I have an external USB drive. It's simply a case with a USB i/f that I have installed a 160GB hard drive in. I think that's pretty common. I use it to back up private data, only plugging it in for the duration of the backup and then removing it.

Trying to fix the Task Manager disabled issue and found that Regedit also says it has been disabled by administrator. Tried to run XP repair and didn't fix it. Any thoughts. Also, can I reload XP from the CD without wiping out all of my data?
