I have bought new pc. I have Norton AV and ZoneAlarm installed. I had a list
of programs that were to be allowed access to the Internet, one of which was
mstask.exe.
I cannot find that file anywhere on my pc (have included hidden and system

In this PC, I already got 4 SATA drives.  Now I ma running out of space, so
I brought an Seagate 300GB IDE connect to 2n IDE controller ( already have
optical drives DVD and DVD on 1st one) with cable select.  nothing else is
on the 2nd controller.

I had this question in another folder (no answers - I don't know how to move
them - you can delete the other message), this one may be a better place.
Over the last month or 2 i've added a 2nd disk, and since then have replaced
the original boot disk.

When I start the machine I get a message "Windows was not shutdown
properly..." then it gives me several options. When I select Start Normally,

I have Automatic Upgrades configured for my Windows XP. However, when I try
to load them, they don't load. I never get passed this screen:

I have no idea what triggered this, but all my folders now open in a "search
window" view. The only way I can open them now is to right click on the
folder to open then click "open" on the dropdown menu. What can I do to get
back to my click to open???

I have created a small script .bat file. That runs on startup.
It basically consists of:

When I attempt to schedule a backup task in XP Home edition (SP2) I get the

Luckily, I had a backup of my 2nd hard disk. Here's the situation:
Did a clean XP Pro install on a machine which previously had XP Pro, and two
hard disks, C: & E:. Did this by reformatting drive C: using a boot floppy,

I tried to copy several data files and got this error.

I'm reloading my computer after a hard drive crash and some setting is
different this time around.
On my start menu, i have a few folders for things I access frequently.
One of these is called Quickdocs and has shortcuts to a bunch of files I use

I followed the advice in MS article 309173, about searching for words and
phrases in files.
After mofifying the registy entries for .XML, .CLASS, and .JAR files, I can
now find text in these files.
