I have a PC running WinXP Pro and I need to restart it and run an application
(from RunOnce reg key) in safe mode. When the application is finished it
restarts the machine. The restart then would in normal mode.

I am using windows xp pro sp2. All of a sudden certain changes have appeared
in my pc. User accounts screen is blank. Another entry called administrator
has appeared in the administrators group. I seem to have lost my adm. rights.

Admin Shares are blocked i cannot access any shares on the machine or anything
This is on non-specific machines... I have run a batch file to disable SFS

My disk rename, format area seems to be missing. Usually I could change drive
letters, format and have drive control via Control Panal, Admin. area and and
disk management but I can no longer find this control. Did .Net software

My Windows XP Home Edition SP2 (on Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo) starts ok up to
showing the list of users: one with administrator privileges and two with
only user privileges.

I would like to restrict access to delete or modify tasks set up with the
Task Scheduler.  I have found tips to do that, but they reference registry
keys that I can not find in my registry, e.g. "Task Scheduler5.0".

I've searched the internet up and down looking for a registry hack or GPO
that will hide the hibernation tab in power options.  Another good option
would be to have all options "greyed-out" so a end-user cannot alter
hibernation settings as defined by a system administrator.

Conflict between Subst'd drive and USB storage devices05 May 2006 08:09 GMT6
For convenience, I use subst to map the G: drive letter to a subdirectory
under which I store all of my project folders.  This caused no problems under
Win2000, but I was recently migrated to XP.  
Now, if I insert a flash drive or hook up an external DVD-ROM drive, XP

I tried to switch the pagefile to my e drive. dinged aruond awhile and
now it showes NO pgefile on any drive.
i have two drives: drive one is partitioned in two so i have drives c,d,

While configuring an unattended setup, nearly everything works just
fine, except for three tiny bits.
These things bug me and I couldn't find a registry key for any of them.

I used BOOTNG (from a floppy) to align three WinXP Pro FAT32 volumes on one
disk with no problems. I then used Convert c: /fs:NTFS to convert Vol C:,
which happened on the reboot and which seemed to progress normally,
