Pardon my ignorance but I just got a new computer and decided I could set it
up myself...
Everyting went suprisingly well, I transfered all the files pretty much
flawlessly but I still have several issues I can't figure out.

I am trying to extend the capacity of my File System Partition (C Drive).
I have tried to use the [extend] function in DiskPart, but it keeps saying:
DiskPart failed to extend the volume.
Please make sure the volume is valid for extending.

Is there any reason why you can't edit boot.ini directly? I see all these
complicated methods being advised. Why not just open it in notepad, make
whatever changes you want, and save it?

I have a test bench with a dual boot configuration of WINXP.  I am going to
install different antivirus software on each one, so they will not conflict.  
Is there any to rename the partitions so when the boot menu comes up I can

The standby and hibernation option in "START" -> "Shutdown"  suddenly
disppeared.
