I recently installed a new hard drive.  My Windows is not working the way it
should be (seems to be starting in safe mode but doesnt indicate its starting

I can't schedule any tasks.  At first I got a message 0x80070005: Access is
Denied.  I read Microsoft article 904423 and learned of a hotfix for the

Recently I upgraded to SP 2 and now windows won't boot properly, it gets so
far them I get the black screen with startup options?
Start up in Safe mode with networking works, the only way to boot normally
is to do a system restore that takes me back b4 SP2, any ideas?

A series of automatic upgrades turned up and I stupidly accepted some
functionality which I subsequently did not like.  I uninstalled an MSN On
Line comms package and then tried to restart.  Disaster ensued and I now
cannot get my system up and running again in anything but safe ...

I carelessly installed CD recording software (WinonCD) that is incompatible
with XP. Uninstalling it has left behind a driver (Cdralw2k.sys). Windows
disables the driver each time I switch on but now I find my DVD drive (AOPEN)
will not work whereas my CD drive (Plextor) does ...

  I have installed an application(Enfocus pitstop) licensed version. I
am going to format my system. But i dont have key for the above

desktop totally disappeared... You can logon his other account, and
still see all his desktop items in the correct place, ie,

Today when I tried to change my cable connection, I noticed my NETWORK
CONNECTIONS window was empty.

Somehow the registry got corrupted.  Myself or my kids messed with it.   It
all started with downloading ie7 beta3 without reading the fine print.
Then I could not uninstall it as it hung on the regisrty check before
completing.  Now I can't use my help center, things are crashing ...
