My XP pro system with an AMD  64 X2 processor exhibits the following
behavior:  When I initiate a shut down, the computer appears to turn off

I did a complete reinstall of Windows XP and things are working fine
except... I keep getting messages for Microsoft updates.  
I installed Service Pack 2 but still get requests for updates (more than 70
since I installed SP2).  Is this necessary or bad?  I've installed everything ...

I have a problem with my removable disc drive ( D : ) ---- When I put a disc

I am trying to troubleshoot a slow boot on Dell Latitude D410, WinXP SP2, NIS

I have a legal copy on my machine and the corresponding progs installed
I need the updates for.
I have gone to updates.microsoft and it says I need these updates.
I also played with my settings from notify to automatic on my updates

I installed IE 7 and got into troubles.
One of the last ones is the fact that my Palm Pilot does not Hot Synch.
Going to Support.Microsoft KB or Q 315352 it tells me that the problem

I select that the connection should go through e.g.. the wireless adaptor?
