I downloaded some text processing utilities and installed them. They are run at the command prompt only and want to set up my system so that when I go to the command prompt and type in the name of a utility to run on a file it will automatically know where to find them.

In my WinXP config, I auto-hide the task bar. Balloon tips for task-bar items, however, are mostly hidden by the bar when it's activated. I noticed in a (groan) reinstall of my system that this wasn't the case, until I brought the system back up to where it had been recently.
