That's it. I hit the 'sleep' button when that's set to hibernate, Windows
'prepares to hibernate', then reboots the system.
What's wrong? I've been able to hibernate before. Not now.

Can anyone tell me if (and if so, how) it's possible to install
software purely for the account of my wife (regular user) and not for
myself. With this software programme some services need to be
installed and since I never work with that stuff it only slows me

I have My document folder redirected to network drive.
I have enabled Offline files. I see synchronization that happened, I see
local copy of offline e files. I can open local copy of file, when I
disconnect my self from network, problem is following.

Normally, when we richt-click the file we can see send to manual. The default
send to manual includes dektop(create shortcut), Mail recipient, My
Documents. Does someone here tell me how to add  more programs in the send to
manual?

I upgraded to Windows XP Professional from Windows 2000 Pro
and I keep getting the "Limited Virtual Memory" your system has no
pagefile, or paging file is to small....
I have tried setting to no page file, user size and system manage.

Can i have an antivirus system or some other protection on my USB drive that
if i attach this USB with a system which is infected by virus, it should not
be infected...........

I had to use msconfig. Now, every time I boot up I get the following
message:
"You have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes to the way
Windows Starts.

So my daughter has Win Xp and decided to "remove log on name " from opening
screen. Now when the PC boots it asks something like "please click on name"
however there is no name.

i have a new machine with x2 300 gig sata drives (i don't know what 'sata'

drives and to run FDisk on them which i can't do (no floppy) - i understood

Hi, when I plug any USB devices into my PC ( it happened with old
motherboard and this new one!) my PC makes the 'connected ok' sound but no
icon is created in 'My Computer or 'explorer' and no usb devices show under
the 'send to' list.  Can anybody PLEASE help?

I have an XP system here (HP personal system).  It is actually my
wife's and is used for school.  I have 2 W2K machines myself.

A tech support (idiot) clown from Startech.com insists that Window XP SP2
Device Manager / Ports (COM & LPT) / PCI Serial Port Properties should have
a tab for "Data Rate" and an option to "Detect Clock Frequency" but I cannot
find either.

One of my computers, a laptop, (running WXP SP2), after not being used for
awhile, appears to have lost the connection to its (usb) printer.  Documents
will not print, neither through the spooler, nor directly, until the computer
