My computer won't boot. It always prompts me to insert system disk. I made it certain that there is no diskette in the floppy drive and my BIOS is configured to make the computer boot from the hard drive. I have windows xp, Compaq system (HP).

hi, since installation of sp3 on xp i have the following issue: i try to load a registry hive using a non-administrative account under "HKEY_USERS" using regedit. And that succeedes. then i try to unload just loaded registry hive and i get "access denied".

I will try to keep this brief, XP Home, after selecting user in normal mode, goes to blank desktop, no taskbar no nothing, have to use taskmanager to get out. Have reloaded in Safe Mode, desktop loads as does taskbar and tray, I can select items to open but they do not open.

I used "Windows Registry Backup and Restore Guided Help" to backup the entire registry into a backup file - RegBack.bkf. This file can be restored using Windows Backup/Restore. However, the XP Home edition prohibits the use of Backup/Restore.
