How does one DISABLE a program from starting up? I know
how to go to the Startup folder under "all users" and can
disable some programs there - but LOTS of other programs
start up that aren't there. I can do it in W98 by going to
booting up with XP home ed & IE617 Aug 2003 04:02 GMT1
when I turn on my computer to boot up all the program
windows open all at once, and won't close until all
settles down then I close them one at a time.

I hate the "balloons" in Win XP. For instance when you
your cursor is over the "X" in the upper right of any
window - the displays a "balloon" the says CLOSE. etc.,
etc., etc.,

I seem to be missing a file called (machine.config) Can I reconstruct it?

How do I change the way new windows are positioned?
My Internet Explorer windows used to appear at the same
vertical position on the desktop but shifted to the
right.  I was happy with this.
