I am trying to convince XP to be silent. I have already specified the 'No Sounds' option through control panel but, XP still makes a sound whenever I minimize or maximize a window. Anyone know how to stop this? Anyone

Does anyone have a patch or a way to get the background to the icon labels to be transparent. There used to be a patch in Win98 called Clearscreen or something but I can't find an XP equivalent. I really want to do this while on active desktop.

i prefer having user datafiles, and settings, too, on a drive other than C:. removes such data from "lineof fire" when it comes to opsys issues such as reformat C: and re-install opsys. can C:\Documents and Settings be relocated, say, to H:\?
