I have pinned several programs to the Start Menu, but when I log off or turn off the computer , upon restarting, those programs no longer appear in the Start Menu. Is there a way to Save the items in the Start Menu?

I'm running XP Pro signed on as administrator. Whenever I put in a DATA cd or zip disk it automatically starts and shows me all the files on the cd or disk.
