I've just reinstalled xp on my machine 2.2ghz, 512ram, 40gb and now it seems to be running slower. I've done the usual stuff i.e. disable xp reporting, change appearance to basic etc, but still I believe slower than it was.

Go To C:\(Being Your Hard Drive)WINDOWS\inf\sysoc.inf And Delete Just hide On Each Line Then Go To Add\Remove Programs "Windows Components" And Now You Can Delete All The Crap Microsoft Hid From You That You Have No Need For.........

Does anyone know of a screensaver that can play a DVD? I'm after one that can just play whatever DVD is in my drive when I'm not there.... It's for a retail shop and customers often see our POS screens (and display screens) when they're unattended.....

For Windows XP, I miss the ability to place a picture on a folder as one does on a desktop. This is easily done in Windows 98. In XP the picture is on the folder in the thumbnail. That is good to add this ability but why take

I have 3 computers on my LAN. Two Win2000 and one WinXP. The shares of the Win2000 can be seen by each other, however the WinXP computer only sees the Win2000 shares after #20 seconds. Why is that?

When my wife is working on her Win98 PC sharing files on my Windows XP PC, I get no warning when I shut down my PC - apart from abuse when she can't save her documents!! Win98 gave me a message telling me that files were open.
