currently I have a D:/ and E:/ drive. Xp boots up on the
D:/ Drive. How do I change this to boot on the E:/ drive
which is where the rest of windows xp is??? I want to
replace the D:/ drive with a new hard drive for more

Pop up error screen at startup states:
ntvdm.exe - No Disk

Trying to bring up Regedit but everytime I choose
Run->Regedit
Regedit window is displayed momentarily on the screen and
then disappears before I can click on it.

On a previous windows up, which I downloaded, caused my
startup configuration to now require my to click on my
name at the Welcome Screen.  How do I get back to the
configuration where I don't have to sign in.

Every time I start my computer the volume icon in the
taskbar is gone. I have to go into "Sounds and Devices
Properties", where the box "Place volume icon in the
taskbar" is checked. I uncheck it, hit apply, check it,

i had shortcuts for "my computer" and "my document" icons
and i restored the default icons but now that i want to
delete these shortcuts...it says: "cannot delet file:
cannot find the source file or disk" and the shortcut

I need to create a partition (10 gigs or so on a 80 gig)
on a machine with only one hard drive. I follow help file
instructions on using disk management tool. I can not
right click as per help file on unused area of disc as it

I downloaded some Windows automatic updates recently and
the next thing I know, I have this annoying screen for
User Accounts.  I am the only one that ever uses this
computer and I don't want to go through this extra step

Does anyone know of a way to define the sequence in which
tasks start in Windows XP?  Eg.  I want to ensure that my
firewall software starts before my internet connection is
established etc.  Is there a way to order that permanently?

it has been formatted and partitioned but how do I set
the bios to boot the new hard drive?
